Happy Friday!

Today I'm going to be sharing the apps I have on my iPhone that are nail related BBBEEECCCAUSE God knows, I can't live without something nail related on my phone!

OPI

This app offers a lot of features with one being the  virtual hand. It can be customized to look like your own hand so that you can see how the polish color will look with your skin tone. To customize the hand, find and save your similar skin tone and nail length. I use this app mainly  for trying on nail polish and for keeping track of my collection

 Other features include:

SEARCH -by polish names.

FAVORITES- save favorite colors all in one place. I like to keep my full polish collection in my favorites that way I don't buy doubles.

FACEBOOK- Keep connected to OPI's Facebook with just a click

COLLECTIONS- Search the newest colors by collections. These are sorted by the newest collection at the top.

STUDIO- This is where you can find the virtual custom hand. This app also displays the name of the color and has a color wheel of all nail polish made by OPI. In the upper left corner you will see a little white heart, this is available to click and make any color your favorite. Once the heart is clicked the color automatically be added to the favorites.

Mani Diaries

This is such an amazing app! Honestly, I love this app to death! The Mani Diaries is a place where girls can get together and share and admire each others nails via pictures! You first start out by making a profile. Second, you upload and post pictures of your nails. Its similar to instagram for NAILS! How flipping awesome! 

Other features include:

DIARIES- Here you can look at the "mani-world" (nails people are sharing), nails you are "admiring" (nails you like) and "my diary"( your profile). The "mani-world" shows pictures of other peoples nails you are following via their profile. You can "like" and "admire" other peoples nails. You can also look back at peoples nails you have already "admired". 

Most pictures have the brand and name of nail polish in the picture.

You can search nail pictures by family colors, dates, and price of polish.

NAILPRO Magazine

NAILPRO is a magazine that keep you updated with the latest nail trends. This app makes is possible to stay updated at all times! In this app you will find a library of NAILPRO's monthly magazines. All you do is download and enjoy!! 

I really hope this post made sense to you guys! Oh, and sorry for any mistakes on this post. I'm having very very bad back & neck pain so I'm just trying to fly right through this!!  I really wanted to give you guys a post but to also keep myself from tons and tons of pain. A none nail related app (even tho I make it nail related) is Vine. This app allows you to make and upload really short video clips! HEY YA'LL

Happy ManiMonday! A lot of nail painting has been happening over here at ManiMondaybyLMA headquarters! My mom has been staying with me for the past couple days while my husband has been at the fire station! I organized my polish, gave some duplicate polishes away to my mom ( so proud of myself), and shook up all my polishes on my rack. When polishes are sitting for a long time they tend to separate and get thicker. Once in a while I suggest rolling all your nail polishes (one by one) back and forth in your hand to shake them up and ideally mix up the colors again. Ohh, I almost forgot to tell you!!! If you follow me on Instagram you will already know what happened...If you don't, go follow me now @lstellato. Tragedy stuck on Sunday. I wanted to add polka dots to my manicure so I grabbed China Glaze:Glam and DROPPED IT. It was like slow motion while it was falling. Once it hit the ground it cracked the bottle completely in half. My floor, well, my floor looked like the tooth fair got murdered on it and this was the crime scene! Bring on the yellow crime tape! Rose gold glitter everywhere! My heart seriously hurt and so did my stomach! Wow, really dramatic.. So, I ended up taking an old bottle of top coat and cleaning it out. I then carefully dumped the remainder product into the old bottle of top coat. Life has been restored!

Okay! Now to today's ManiMonday! Last week I picked up a couple of new colors. One of the exciting colors I picked up was Essie: Play Date. I have NO idea why I waited so long to pick this up! This color is flawless for spring and summer! Such a beautiful color. The purple is pale but electric at the same time, if that makes any sense!?!?! One of my top colors for this season.

itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot.....NAILS?!?!

Hello All,


First order of business.....Essie is sending out FREE samples of their apricot cuticle oil! I use this stuff like its my JOB and I absolutely love it! All you need to do is fill out a little question sheet online and they will be ship you a sample in 6 to 8 weeks! Click here to go directly to the link!


Materials for today's blog post:
1.Base & top coat
2. Nail lacquer(s)
3.One Bobby pin with ball tips (bend this so that the ball tips are NOT TOUCHING. See picture below directions for help)


Once you have all of these items pick out select a little area to work at. I know this is weird but sometimes I stand! Anyone else stand while painting their nails or am I the only freak who does this!? Anyways, start by paint all nails the desired colors. I used 5 different colors one being a glitter polish. Apply the amount of coats you need to get a good coverage from the lacquers on the nail. Let nails dry. I only waiting like 3 minutes or so. Once they are dry grab the bent bobby pin and dip it in the lacquer color you planned to use for the polka dots ( I used black). HELPFUL HINT: What I found works the best was leaving the bottle of lacquer unscrewed and open all while keeping the brush still inside the bottle. I simply just picked up the brush and lightly touched the brush full of paint to my bobby pin ball tip. I did have to go back a couple times to reapply because the color wasn't coming out as dark as I wanted. The other way you could do this is by taking the nail brush out and setting in down on something like a plastic bag ( this will make a mess) and dip the bobby pin ball tip directly into the bottle. I found that this was extremely messy!! Not only did the brush make a mess from all the access  lacquer all over the plastic bag but as I dipped the bobby pin into the bottle the paint got all over the sides of the bobby pin! This ultimately left me with black nail polish alllll ovvvveeerr my hands! NOT A CUTE LOOK! So after you apply all the polka dots to the desired nails let them dry for a little while. This prevents the polka dots from smudging while applying top coat. Once you feel that the polka dots are dry apply top coat!

Nail Laquers Used: Opi Golden Eye, Opi Black Onyx, Opi Rumple's Wiggin, Essie A Crewed Interest, Essie Turquoise & Caicos

I kept with the spring trend and painted my nails pastels with black polka dots. I cant wait to change up this look and do all glitter nails with colored polka dots! This would also be super cute in the summer while wearing a 50's style polka dot bikini! The options are endless with this one girls!

Spring Nail Trend

I KNOW I KNOW....I'VE BEEN MIA FOR A WHILE....BUT I'M BACKKKK!!

You can't do spring without some good pastel lacquers!

Hello doll,

 Today what I have for you is a simple way to jazz up that spring time nail look! Pastels are all the rage right now but I feel like I can only keep switching out the same pastel colors on my nails for so long! If you feel the same way keep on reading and I will  help you achieve an updated pastel nail look with colors you have at home!

Materials Needed:
1. Base coat & top coat
2. Four pastel nail lacquers
3. One silver glitter lacquer


          (base coat & top coat not photographed)


Are you ready for this?? SO SIMPLE!

STEP 1. Apply base coat to each nail.
STEP 2. Choose and paint the glitter nail.
STEP 3. Paint all remaining nails on your hand with the four pastel colors you have picked out.  
                         ( Apply two coats of lacquer to each nail)
STEP 4. Apply a top coat. Let nails dry.

BAM! You are done and on trend for spring! To spice up this look even more you can add as many glitter nails as you would like! I normally do 1 or 2. To really make a statement, do your nails with one pattern of pastels while switching up the pattern of pastels on your toes! I totally love this look for spring and summer!

Essie Winter Collection

"a LEADING LADY is always dressed to thrill." Essie

Soo yesterday I picked up two more Essie winter collection colors. I already had WHERE'S MY CHAUFFEUR? at home. I added LEADING LADY & BUTLER PLEASE. I am truly impressed with the colors from this collection! They are bight, bold, classy, and fun!

First up is WHERE'S MY CHAUFFEUR?

This color is sooo beautiful. Its stunning in the bottle and on nails. Its not like any other teal they make. The formula isn't very thick. Even when going on my nails it didn't give full coverage with one coat (sometimes I can get away with one coat with colors). Two coats was perfect! I honestly love this color. I have a feeling I will be wearing this a lot this spring & summer.

 (Above: That is only one coat. You see its pretty translucent in some areas)

Next up is LEADING LADY.

I found this formula to also be translucent. This one needed three coats to get the full coverage that I wanted. I really loved this color wayyy before I purchased it. I have seen it on other people and always thought it was a stunning red! I do also enjoy the sparkle in it! Its perfect for a holiday party, a red themed wedding, Valentines day, and for feeling sexy!!

Last color is BUTLER PLEASE

Stunning bright electric blue!!! This is a very popular color with MANY people. I keep seeing this polish on tons of people. This color also needs two coats to achieve a lovely vibrant manicure. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS COLOR! Essie, you did me well with this collection!!

Mani Monday

Happy Mani Monday everyone! I hope your weekend was just fabulous!! Today's Mani color is OPI: Skulls & Glossbones. This color is a light gray shade from the Pirates of The Caribbean Collection. I could not find it on the OPI website but I did find it on amazon. Click here for the direct link to purchase this polish off amazon. This color is another one of my favorite colors. I'm totally in love with anything gray! I'd say this color is more of a white gray, very true to color, and the coverage is very good. I applied two coats. The only complaint I have is that sometimes in a darker room the shade looks like a green gray...NOT A FAN OF GREEN GRAY! Anyways.. I tend to use this color a lot. Would you ever use this color?

Something else I want to talk about is the

  Jergens natural glow express body moisturizer in medium to tan skin tones.

                                                        

Last night I was looking in my bin of "things I have but done use" products and came across this. I think I had heard about it from a friend a long time ago. I thought I would give it a try and see how I liked the result compared to the self tanner I have been using for years. They only good thing I can say about this product is that it really moisturized my skin. Remember,  This is just my personal opinion. This product may work for your skin type and not mine. Anyways.. when I woke up this morning I was orange, I was blotchy, and the lotion smelled icky while putting it on (most self tanners smell bad). Its hard to use this product because the lotion comes out white and doesn't stain your skin right away. It develops gradually and you should wake up with a "natural looking, sun kissed glow". YEAAA RIGHT!! Here are some pictures to show you my results on the product. And yes...I did rub this product into my skin....for a long time.

This is the product I normally use, FakeBake. I think it is the best! It comes in many different ways to apply to the body and face. Some examples are: gel, spray, mist, mousse, lotion, and a body butter. I used the lotion for a long time, then the store didn't have the lotion so I used the mousse, and next I will be trying the liquid spray with the application mitt.This product is a smelly one but all the products come out in a dark brown color so you can see where you are applying. This also give you a instant tan! I promise to do a blog post on how to apply this product along with pictures of the final results!
